When we first buy a house, we kind of fall in love with its bricks. But over time, the novelty wears off and we may find ourselves wondering - how much do we really love the home we're in?
Here are some signs that it's time to book the man and van to move your stuff or pick up a few buckets of paint.
Paint
As you walk around, do you constantly point out things that need to be done? Or are you happy with the way it looks?
When we become agitated with our surroundings, it's usually time to take action. Most homeowners do renovations when they first move in and then leave for a while - after all, it can be expensive.
But if how you feel about what you're looking at can't be fixed with a little paint or wallpaper - it's time to start checking out websites with home listings.
Visiting others
It's natural to look around and take inspiration from friends and family when we visit them, but if you're looking around at the layout or size of your home - chances are you're ready to make a change.
If you can't move now, then evaluating the way they decorate may be the perfect thing to do.
Uninvested
When you moved in, did you take the time to carefully plan the look of each room? Or did you grab the things you needed to make it livable? If it's the latter, and you haven't had the urge to furnish your home to make it more comfortable, then you should probably start looking elsewhere.
When you invest in the interior appearance of a property, you are somewhere you can see yourself living for a long time.
Often, heavier furnishings and features become part of the property, such as extensions, conversions and other personalizations.
Love Home
In most cases, when people leave for a period of time, they just want to return to their favorite space and enjoy all the physical pleasures. If you find that you are going anywhere other than home - then it may be time to consider a move.
Restlessness
If you've tried to make some decorative decisions at home and you just find that whatever you're doing - it doesn't feel like enough, then that's a clear sign that you're unhappy and should be thinking about your next move.
Unboxing
Many times, some boxes are left in the attic or garage and never seem to be opened. By not opening the box, you are not giving everything you own to the house.
When we store away parts of our lives, it's not worth opening the package in our minds - because we don't stay that long.
